1.) DIVERSITY AS A FACTOR of competitiveness for cities 

Gender loses social commitment, living and working environments are transformed and the male-female pattern at the same time. In the world of business: Who wants another classic corporate career? Start-ups are the pioneers of new business models, but also in diversity when it comes to their teams and employees? In today's global economy, a city's level of competitiveness has emerged as an important policy tool for business leaders and the impact of many economic and institutional hard factors on competitiveness have been studied. So what about the soft factors like diversity, especially in ethnics, gender, culture and language?

Let’s take a look at Europe's most thriving startup hubs Berlin and London and let's see if it's true: "who suits the shoe, attracts him". Four specialists in diversity – two from each city – will talk about their view on diversity as a factor of competitiveness for cities.

Start Alliance is regularly present at international tech and start-up events such as SXSW in Houston/Texas, VIVATECH in Paris or TOA/Tech Open Air in Berlin.

During London Tech Week 4 Berlin Startups will present their leading technologies at the TechXLR8 festival from 12 to 14 June: 

  • Storyball - a screen-free smart toy that uses games, stories and challenges to get children playing, learning and moving their bodies.

  • YOBO App - a social network for the environment.
