Investment Fund for Climate, Health, and Social Impact

Berlin-based Revent is an early stage VC with a focus on founders who are tackling the world’s “system-critical” problems such as health, sustainability, food, and the climate crisis. The fund has now gathered the €60 M it aimed for, as TechCrunch reports, and investments have begun. The belief is, as founding partner Otto Birnbaum has said, that the world’s problems can be addressed by “harnessing technology and building scalable, commercial businesses that drive sustainable and significant impact. We’re convinced that purpose and profit fuel one another”. Partners in the fund include the Otto Group, Beiersdorf (NIVEA, Eucerin), the European Investment Fund EIF, the NRW.BANK, members of the Heraeus, Hymer and Wepa families, and investors such as Verena Pausder (Fox & Sheep), Sascha Konietzke (Contentful), Florian Heinemann (Project A) and Luis Hanemann (Headline).
