With around 500 new tech startups per year, Berlin is Germany’s capital for startups. Berlin has a fast-growing startup scene and a successful infrastructure for financing and funding. With numerous incubators, accelerators and co-working spaces, the city provides prime conditions for entrepreneurs from around the world. Berlin is internationally recognized as a startup hub and as a breeding ground for creative people who want to change the world.

Start Alliance – an International Network

Start Alliance forms a business network between the most vibrant startup hubs around the globe, supports startups to adapt business models to international requirements and accelerates corporate innovations.

Who is this program for

This program is aimed at startups from Berlin and from the partner cities of Start Alliance, at corporates and at cities and regions which want to create an international startup network.

Startups

Startups from Berlin or the Start Alliance partner cities which

  • are beyond their idea phase and have at least a prototype of their product
     
  • are looking for international cooperation partners or
  • would like to expand and enter new markets or
  • are rising capital internationally or
  • are recruiting internationally.

General offer for Startups: try Start Alliance Partner Cities for free!

Start Alliance accepts startups on a rolling basis who are interested in a specific partner city (see below). Such startups can apply by using the link below and their application will be reviewed by the Start Alliance team.

Accepted startups receive free office space in international co-working spaces and access to excellent startup networks in the respective startup community. 

Group programs for Startups:

Annual group programs are organized to each destination at different times of the year. Accepted startups can join one of these group programs and benefit from the experience based learning approach of participating in a group. Have a look on the events to be kept informed on upcoming delegations and application deadlines.

Accepted startups receive a full program of 2-4 weeks (depending on region) and get connected to the ecosystem of their choice. It includes free office space in local co-working spaces, access to startup communities and mentoring about main topics of market development. With this, not only the respective co-working spaces on site are helping but also a global network of corporate partners. The programs iare held in batches of 15 to 20 startups.

Corporates

Big enterprises around the world are getting more and more involved with startups these days. 

That is where Start Alliance hooks in: In cooperation with corporate innovation teams, Start Alliance can help achieving specific innovation goals within their own corporate innovation strategies.

Start Alliance offers scouting trips to every partner city to familiarize a company with local players, startups and cultural specifics.

Cities

Start Alliance aims to build a network of startup minded cities that cover every need for the startups deriving from those cities. Starting in 2015 by initiative of Berlin Partner for Business and Technology, 6 cities were the founding partners of this network: Berlin, London, New York, Paris, Shanghai and Tel Aviv.
