Urban Energy Forum 2018

SECTOR COUPLING FOR SMARTER CITIES

While many countries in this world are pushing forward the implementation of a global energy transition, the role of sector coupling, i.e. the integration of the power, heat and mobility industries has become an important issue to address and a prevalently subject that deserves more attention. Sector coupling allows for the extensive use of renewable energy and thus for a significant reduction of CO2-emissions.

The Berlin Brandenburg Energy Network

Berlin and its local energy businesses recognized this potential early on and developed a landscape in which a significant number of companies and young start-ups have been able to establish themselves as leaders in this field. There is much hope that this landscape can be recreated on a global scale. For this reason, the Berlin Brandenburg Energy Network e.V. (BEN) would like to help foster the exchange of best practices and know-how between local and international leaders in the field by cordially inviting you to join the Urban Energy Forum (UEF) 2018.

Urban Energy Forum: B2B conference and networking

The UEF will discuss the current issues regarding the energy transition in urban environments at an international level during this year’s Berlin Energy Week. The 4th Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue 2018, which is hosted by the Federal Foreign Office the two days prior to the Forum is a good segway to this international B2B-conference, which will focus on „Sector Coupling for Smarter Cities.“

International and Berlin-based businesses and experts are invited to come together to review the latest trends of sector integration in urban environments. Key players of current project implementation schemes will share their expertise by presenting barriers, solutions and potentials for sector coupling and discuss these further in panel discussions.

Location

Hotel Titanic/Gendarmenmarkt, Französische Straße 30, 10117 Berlin

Information

The UEF will provide extensive B2B – networking opportunities in an exclusive business lounge.
