In the heart of Berlin, you’ll find the Humboldthain Technology Park located in Mitte. A former AEG complex, this prominent business and science centre is now officially considered a historical monument – though it is firmly set on forging the future. Located in southwest Berlin, the Zukunftsort Berlin SÜDWEST is the fourth-largest science centre of its kind in Germany. It’s known as the German Oxford for R&D and teaching – for good reason. In addition to attracting numerous life science and biotech companies, the area is also home to several prominent science institute startups and spinoffs. Freie Universität Berlin (FUB), the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) and Helmholtz Zentrum are just some of the visionaries you’ll find here. The startup centre “FUBIC” (FUB-Business- and Innovation Center) is being build and supposed to be finished in 2021. Startups from the FUB and other science institutions will be able to work closely to their institute and stay connected.
