Berlin - the place to be for Additive Manufacturing

Berlin is the most attractive location in Europe for Additive Manufacturing and 3D printing technologies. Alongside renowned machine manufacturers, software companies, international networks and hubs, Berlin also boasts new university faculties and professorships and relevant research projects to cover the complete additive manufacturing value chain. In addition Berlin's dynamic startup scene is an important factor in the rapid development of additive manufacturing processes, and theer are numerous examples of technology transfer from the universities in the form of spin-outs are numerous. Berlin's outstanding scientific landscape regularly makes important contributions to technological developments. 

With AMBER (Additive Manufacturing Berlin-Brandenburg), the capital region has its own 3D printing initiative. It is coordinated by Berlin Partner on behalf of the Berlin Senate and supported by a core of strategic partners. AMBER pursues the rapid transfer of research results into sustainable and internationally competitive innovations and stands as an umbrella brand for the AM ecosystem in the capital region.

Another important milestone was the establishment of a hub for Additive Manufacturing methods in Marienpark. In addition to co-working spaces for innovative 3D printing companies and scientific institutes, the Industrial Additive Manufacturing Hub Berlin (IAM Hub) offers a Demo Center as a testing and experimentation ground for novel 3D printing technologies.
