Moonfare’s mission is “to democratize access to private equity”, according to CEO and founder Steffen Pauls. Moonfare claims to make sought-after private equity funds available to individuals and family offices, and over 48,000 of them have already signed up hoping for higher returns. There’s a proprietary due-diligence framework and a digital secondary market for private market funds. All this is something that investors seem to understand and value, because they’re clamoring to get shares in the company. According to businesswire, Moonfare raised over $130M in their recent Series C round, which they capped at approximately $15M per investor. Headquartered in Berlin, Moonfare operates in 25 countries across Europe, Asia, and America.
