Menopause affects approximately half the population sooner or later – so that’s a big market. “After witnessing a long-overdue focus on the female menstrual cycle in recent years, it is now time to consider the end of the cycle,” says Valentina Ullrich, founder and CEO of the young Berlin startup Frieda Health. She has put together a team of professionals in health data, software development, gynecology, and psychology in order to build a platform for women, particularly those aged 45 and above. The platform currently offers eight week online courses addressing psychological and physical aspects, including dietary, that include individual coaching. In Germany, the costs of the course may be carried by the health insurance system. Founded in 2022, Frieda Health has just received pre-seed backing of €2.5M, as Femtech Insider reports. The money will be used for further research and development and to refine the digital platform in order to grow the user base.
